Responsible Actions
The success of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg is, along with profitability, based on long-term existence of the company whose goals can only be achieved by sustainable management and the perfect use of resources.
To ensure success in the future our processes and the use of resources are constantly being scrutinized and optimized. At least once a year, every department defines a measurable objective and at the end of the business year the improvements are presented and documented. Every employee knows the intention and goals of the certification as a Certified Green Hotel®.
Certified Green Hotel®
It doesn't matter if you're organizing an event or traveling on business or pleasure: With this certificate you can be sure to have chosen a service provider that fulfils even the highest demands of sustainability to the fullest. We undergo a VDR certification every three years. This strict evaluation comprises 70 criteria in the categories energy, water, waste, F&B, arrival & mobility, CSR, information & management. The voluntary evaluation, in which we were above average, is valid for three years.

Energy
- 100% of our electricity is derived from renewable sources. (see the certificate)
- air-conditioning system is cooled resource friendly with ground water from our own spring
Food & Beverages
- prevention of excess quantities/waste through smaller insertions at the buffet, preparation of meals directly at the live cooking station upon request
- use of 100 % regional, organic and fair products when the VDR Green package is booked
Waste
- the staff, the guests and the event participants are asked to respect garbage separation
- forgoing of portion packages, use of reusable packaging and bulk packs
Water
- installation of aerators and stop buttons on the toilets, implementation of the "Towel Rule"
- a "Green Card" on the night table, so you can decide if the bed linens should or should not be changed during the next room cleaning
Arrival & Mobility
- guests are offered the Deutsche Bahn's Event Ticket as well as for public transportation
- Complimentary e-car or e-bike charging at our Certified Green Hotel E-charging-station in the parking garage. There are three charging stations available - one for Tesla, two for other e-cars.
- Bicycle rentals (incl. E-Bikes)
Information & Management
- the guiding principles of our sustainability program are available for every guest to read in the guest folder
- sustainability is a regular topic in our meetings
- every department has to define a measurable objective and present the implementation at the end of the business year
Corporate Social Responsibility
- support of charitable projects and initiatives, for example the tree-planting actions of Plant-for-the-Planet
Accessibility
- the entire hotel is barrier free
Your commitment counts
We offer companies that are planning an event with us a special Green Meeting Package. Along with the use of regional and fair-trade products we also support a tree-planting project in Mexico. A comfortable and climate-friendly arrival is possible with the Deutsche Bahn's Event Ticket. And it is also possible to charge an e-bike or electric car at the hotel's Certified Green Hotel charging station in the parking garage.
You can help us: Use the Green Card in your room and decide when you want to have your sheets and towels changed. Help save electricity and water and separate the garbage in the room. Subtle notices can be found in the appropriate places in the hotel, in the rooms and in the banquet area.|
