About us
Welcome to our owner-managed gourmet hotel
Experience warm hospitality and excellent cuisine. Our owner-managed hotel combines a stylish ambience with first-class cuisine – regional, seasonal and at MICHELIN-star level.
From a bed and breakfast hotel to an address for connoisseurs
Our four-star superior hotel, classified by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA), opened in May 2006.
Dr Detlef Graessner, owner and entrepreneur in Starnberg, was looking for a suitable location for his training courses and events at the time, but was not satisfied with the existing facilities in the region. So, together with his daughter Cornelia Graessner-Neiss, he planned and realised his own conference hotel: the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg. Starting out as a hotel garni, we are now proud to be a top address for business travellers, conference guests and gourmet enthusiasts in our region.
Cordiality, quality and personal service take centre stage. Our owner-managed hotel in Starnberg offers a stylish ambience, sophisticated cuisine and a special feel-good atmosphere – ideal for unforgettable stays.

our code of conduct
The basis of our actions towards guests, employees and suppliers
It is part of our culture that we welcome everyone at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg – regardless of gender, nationality, religion, age, physical constitution, sexual identity and disability.
Each person treats others in a friendly, respectful and fair manner. We promote equality at all times, and should conflicts arise, the line manager or HR department will be involved accordingly.
Discrimination is not tolerated in any way.
We are committed to providing all employees with a good, safe and healthy working environment. The hotel organises regular employee health courses to promote occupational health. The highest priority is to prevent all occupational accidents and to immediately eliminate unacceptable conditions that could jeopardise the safety of employees and guests. The personal safety of guests in hotel rooms and on the hotel grounds is also a top priority, and all employees play their part in this.
In addition, the security and confidentiality of the personal data of all employees, guests and suppliers must be protected. The guidelines of the GDPR apply here at all times; should an incident occur, the hotel’s data protection officer is informed directly and takes over the case.
Under no circumstances do we condone child and forced labour or work based on slavery and human trafficking, and we demand the same behaviour from our suppliers. The Youth Labour Protection Act applies at all times and is not neglected in any way.
All employees at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg act sustainably and are familiar with the hotel’s guidelines, which include the responsible use of energy, water and waste resources. Energy-efficient working is encouraged at all times and unnecessary energy consumption is directly prevented so that emissions are minimised. The valuable resource of water is used sparingly and in a targeted manner. There are extensive recycling stations throughout the hotel and every employee is required to comply with the recycling process. Avoiding and minimising waste is a top priority. The hotel promotes the environmental awareness of its employees at all times and motivates them to act in an environmentally conscious manner.
Corrupt behaviour aimed at influencing actions or decisions in business relationships is prohibited. This behaviour applies to both sides – guests/customers and suppliers. No personal advantages may be demanded or accepted, in order to promote fair and honest competition. Clear standards have been established that regulate the acceptance and granting of benefits – these must be complied with in full by all employees.
Promoting education, social causes, sport and the environment is one of the core values of the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg. Donations are made regularly and on a voluntary basis in the form of monetary and in-kind contributions. In the area of sponsorship, we support sport, culture and education in the region. All sponsorships are communicated appropriately and verifiably.
The selection of suppliers is transparent and is not based on personal circumstances or preferences. When selecting suppliers, it is important to the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Starnberg that they also act in accordance with the hotel’s code of conduct and commit themselves in the same way. Furthermore, the hotel pays attention to regionality in order to act sustainably.
